Inspired by our Greek culinary heritage, George's Tavern combines local seasonal ingredients with high-quality ingredients sourced from around the world.

OUR STORY

We are a family run restaurant, created by chef and owner George Mavromoustakis, combining traditional greek flavours with some of his favourite dishes from around the world with locally available ingredients.

One of the best places in Arusha to have a good time with European cuisine. Place is not so cozy as it might look on the photo but is nice and quiet. Service is excellent, tastes - at least very good 🙂 I'm visiting them regularly!

Don’t know what to choose? Our meat platter lets you sample the best that George’s has to offer, hitting all the right spots. All our Meat Specialities are served with our signature greek salad & vegetables, with a choice of rice, mashed potatoes, chips or baked potatoes.

We’re all about top quality ingredients and good times, specialises in a large variety of quick and tasty dishes that you can enjoy at our restaurant or order for takeaway.

We make the burger patties ourselves, using only the best cuts of beef. We also have great options for vegetarians & vegans

  Always a pleasure!
We have eaten at George's Tavern many times over the last several years.  The quality of the food and the courteous service is quite consistent.  A relaxing atmosphere to linger and enjoy the company of fellow travelers.  Staff does an excellent job accommodating large groups.

The waiter (France) was very courteous and friendly. The food was excellent and waiting time wasn't very long. The whole area was spotless and such a good general atmosphere. I would definitely recommend to try this restaurant!!

  Nice food and very fast

  All round very good experience
This was our second visit to George's Tavern, and again, a very enjoyable experience. The manageress greeted us on arrival to help us sanitise our hands. All of the staff wear masks at all times. The entrance and restaurant and gardens are neat, clean and very well maintained. We had a late lunch of beef fillet with crisps and creamy pepper sauce (tender meat, delicious sauce, crispy fries), beef burger for our children (very good), delicious garlic bread, hot and buttery, and a plate of samoosas (wolfed down in seconds!) I can highly recommend the place for a good meal, generous portions, friendly and efficient service and a pleasant, green and relaxing environment. We will be back.
